Job summary

Aitken Pharmacy is seeking a Mold Technician to install, set up, and adjust molds on injection molding machines in a fast-paced production environment. You will perform lockout procedures, purge materials, and ensure correct tooling while maintaining logs and safety protocols.

Responsibilities include operating mills and lathes, coordinating with the molding room, and keeping the area clean and safe. Experience as a Die Setter and willingness to train are important for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Three years prior experience as a Die Setter is needed.
• On the job training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Install and remove molds from injection molding machines per standards.
• Set up machines by positioning molds and connecting water, hydraulics, and air.
• Perform lockout procedures and purge material.
• Ensure proper tools are used when placing molds in machines.
• Clean rust from platens with mold cleaner.
• Install mold with correct knock-out rods.
• Set up auxiliary equipment and mold controllers.
• Configure parameters according to setup sheet.
• Operate machine shop equipment (milling, lathe, grinders).
• Notify supervisors after changes and ensure cleanup afterward.
• Maintain production and tool-change logs.
• Disinfect work area daily.

Title: MOLD TECHNICIAN

Direct Reports: None

Coordinates with: Molding Room

Position Type: Full Time Monday through Friday – 8 hour shifts – Non-Exempt (Hiring 2 for first shift / Hiring 1 for second shift)

Business Department: Molding Room

Job Characteristics

• Installation and removal of molds from Injection Molding Machines, according to company standards
• Set up and adjust machines for production by positioning and aligning molds, connecting water, hydraulics, air feeds, and etc.
• Perform lockout procedures, purging material, removing die from machine
• Assure you are using correct tools when placing molds in machines safely
• Clean platens with mold cleaner to get all the rust off of them.
• Install mold with correct length knock out rods
• Set up auxiliary equipment that may be needed mold controllers, temp controllers
• Set up parameters according to setup sheet
• Operate machine shop equipment including milling, lathes and grinders
• Communicate with supervisors when change is complete
• Make sure machines are cleaned after the change
• Bring mold to proper area to be cleaned and inspected
• Responsible for maintaining tool change and production logs
• Disinfect your working area daily
• Other duties and responsibilities may be required and may change at any time with or without notice
