Job summary

NexTech in Sterling Heights, MI is seeking a Mold Setter with 1-2 years of experience in Plastic Injection Molding. You will perform mold changes, set-ups, and process-related adjustments on 500–3300-ton presses, ensuring quality and efficiency on the production floor.

Responsibilities include operating powered lift equipment, repairing leaks, prepping molds, keeping mold storage organized, and submitting paperwork per procedures.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• 1-2 years of mold setting experience in Plastic Injection Molding.
• Must have reliable transportation and an acceptable attendance record.
• Possess good mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work independently.
• Must be a dedicated team player and willing to learn new processes.
• Ability to operate powered lift equipment (forklift, hoists, cranes, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Perform mold changes as scheduled in 500–3300-ton presses.
• Responsible for all mold changes per the production schedule and emergency changes.
• Set up molds and related functions (watering, knockout, hot runner, hydraulics, pneumatics).
• Set press parameters to the process verification sheet when applicable.
• Repair any fluid or air leaks relating to the mold.
• Pull and reset mold halves for mold repair.
• Participate in WCM project assignments.
• Load and unload mold-carrying trucks.
• Install and remove auxiliary equipment from the molding floor.
• Maintain orderly mold storage area and supplies.
• Ensure paperwork is completed per process; adhere to safety procedures.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping.

Job description

• Performing mold/die changes as scheduled in 500 – 3300-ton presses
• Responsible for all mold changes done per the production schedule and all emergency mold changes.
• Responsible for the proper set-up of all molds and related functions such as watering of the mold, knockout, hot runner set-up, hydraulics, pneumatics etc.
• Set parameters of the molding press to the process verification sheet if applicable.
• Repair any fluid or air leaks relating to the mold.
• Responsible for the pulling and resetting of all mold halves, specifically for the purpose of mold repair.
• Participate and complete WCM Project assignments.
• Responsible for the loading and unloading of all mold carrying trucks.
• Responsible for the installation and removal of all auxiliary equipment from the molding floor.
• Maintain the orderly appearance of the mold storage area.
• Responsible for the orderly appearance of all mold-setting supplies including the removal of all supplies from the molding machine and immediate area.
• Ensure all paperwork is completed and submitted in accordance to the process
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures (i.e., quality policy manual, associate handbook, Level II procedures, etc.).
• Comply with of all internal and OSHA required safety procedures.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping.
