Linamar Corporation in Michigan is seeking a skilled Mold Setter to set molds in casting machines and prepare lines for production set-up.

The role requires prior casting experience, safety awareness, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will train and support team members to maintain quality and productivity.

Job Summary

Set molds in the casting machines and prepare them for production set-up

Responsibilities

• Operate casting equipment in a safe manner at all times
• Train Molders on safety and correct operations
• Monitor equipment in your area of responsibility for adverse conditions and advise supervision of these conditions
• Set-up casters for high productivity levels within your area of responsibility to include Trim Dies
• Perform all duties that a molder performs
• Change and prep fill tubes
• Change molds and Trim Dies
• Regularly scheduled follow up training and competency evaluation will take place annually and be included with an employee’s annual evaluation summary and maintained by HR in the employee records.
• Required to follow any other instructions and to perform any other duties upon request of the supervisor
• Complies with the following OSHA Safety Standards: Hazard Communication; Bloodborne Pathogens; Lockout; Permit Required Confined Space; Hot Work Permit; Powered Industrial Trucks; P.P.E. and Ergonomics
• When necessary, participate in classes and training seminars to learn new technologies and techniques deemed helpful to performance on the job

Academic Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Prior Casting Experience
