Job summary

AVNA in Berlin, Connecticut seeks a Mold Maker who will be responsible for leading mold making, repairing and maintaining tooling, and ensuring production readiness.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience and strong skills in mold construction, toolroom machinery, and a commitment to quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in mold and/or tool making.
• Experience with tight tolerances and PFMEA is a plus.
• Knowledge of tooling design preferred.

Job description

As a Mold maker, who will report directly to the Toolroom Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading and managing several facets of mold making, mold repair and maintenance, tooling and fixtures including developing to ready for production status.

Key Goals

Become a trusted and respected leader. Achieve the system development performance goals on the AVNA Report Card (Efficiency, Cost savings and continuous improvement), assigned objectives related to AVNA strategy, as well as working with the NPD and Project Management teams to successfully execute and launch new programs/strategies/systems for each.

Responsibilities

• Show positive attitude and be a strong team player.
• Good attendance and on time to work.
• Be able to lift moderate loads regularly (under 40 lbs.)
• Drive for results and satisfaction of both internal and external customers.
• Fabricate tooling to the highest standard and best practices.
• Look for opportunities for better tool building efficiency.
• Organize, prioritize, and plan accomplishment of multiple tasks.
• Mentor apprentice and mold makers/tool makers with less experience.
• Submit ideas for improvement and safety suggestions regularly.
