Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Mold Maintenance Technician in San Antonio, TX. The role pays $25-$30 per hour and operates on a rotating schedule with a 8a-4p shift.

You will perform multi-level maintenance on molding equipment, including mold changes, set-ups and start-ups to support production in plastics. Key duties include preventive and emergency maintenance, root-cause analysis, and participation in mold maintenance training.

Qualifications

• Completion of technical diploma from an accredited vocational/technical institute or equivalent work experience.
• 4-7 years of experience as a machinist and mold setter or experience in related field.
• Technical Knowledge Skills & Experience with the Injection Molding process.
• Extensive experience with hand tools, milling machine, and lathe machine is required.
• Experience operating overhead cranes.
• Must be proficient in MS Office.
• Knowledge of safety practices and expectations.
• Knowledge of quality practices and expectations, and respect for product.
• Knowledge of Injection Molding hot runner systems.
• Ability to effectively communicate.
• Extensive Knowledge of OSHA requirements and Lockout/Tag-out Procedures.
• Strong Knowledge of Safety ,5S, LEAN /TPS Toyota Production System a plus.
• Understanding standard work (SOPu2019s).
• Understands and follows Companyu2019s quality and corporate/environmental policies.
• Understands and follows procedures and work instructions established by Smurfit Westrock – Vitop, USA.

• Ensure cleanliness and maintains safe work environment within mold shop.
• Respond to problems by performing corrective technical or mechanical solutions.
• Participate in continuous improvement of molding equipment and processes.
• Assist with documentation on mold changes that can be used to control traceability and ensure reproducibility.
• Follow established procedures in order to maintain a clean and organized environment.
• Adhere to lock-out tag-out policy and procedures.
• Work with all departments to meet daily tasks.
• Perform all duties safely and efficiently.
• Other duties as assigned.

MOLD MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

$25-$30/HR

Shift : This position will start on a M – F schedule, then move to Wk1 M-F/Wk2 T-Sat; from 8a-4p.

The Opportunity:

The Maintenance Technician is required to perform the multi-level maintenance and repair of molding equipment. The role provides support to the execution of the production schedule by performing mold changes, set-ups, and start-ups in the plastics department. The position will require competencies that include molding, tooling, quality inspection, and machining. In the absence of the Technical Manager, this position reports to the General Manager

• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule from Management/Supervision.
