Job summary

Management Recruiters of Tallahassee is seeking a Mold Designer to design and develop injection molds for plastic components from concept to production tooling. Proficiency with Cimatron for mold design, core/cavity development, and CNC toolpath generation is required.

Requirements include 3+ years in mold design, a solid understanding of plastics and part design, GD&T, and reading 2D drawings and CAD data (SolidWorks/Creo/CATIA/NX).

Qualifications

• 3+ years of mold design experience in injection molding or moldmaking.
• Proficiency in Cimatron for mold design and CAM.
• Strong understanding of plastics, shrinkage, and part design principles.
• Ability to read 2D drawings and interpret CAD data (SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, NX).
• Familiarity with GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Design injection molds (single/multi-cavity, family molds, hot/cold runner) using Cimatron.
• Generate detailed mold component drawings, BOMs, and assembly documentation.
• Develop CNC toolpaths within Cimatron for mold base and insert machining.
• Collaborate with tooling engineers, moldmakers, and process engineers to resolve design issues during build and tryout.
• Maintain mold design standards and component libraries; estimate timelines for quoting.
