Job summary

Mohs Mobile Pros seeks a dedicated Mohs Technician for a full-time, on-site role in Vancouver, WA. You will receive and orient tissue specimens, perform embedding and cryosectioning, and prepare frozen sections for microscopic evaluation with routine H&E and special stains as directed.

Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail, specimen labeling accuracy, and adherence to quality control procedures.
  • Ability to follow standardized protocols, maintain laboratory equipment, and uphold safety and infection control standards.
  • Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with dermatologists, nurses, and other clinical staff.
  • Prior experience in a Mohs or surgical pathology lab preferred; HT or HTL (ASCP) certification and formal histology training are beneficial.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, perform fine manual tasks, and manage time in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and orient tissue specimens, embed tissue, perform cryosectioning, and prepare frozen sections for microscopic evaluation.
  • Carry out routine H&E staining and special stains as directed, maintain equipment and instruments, and ensure proper labeling and documentation of all specimens and slides.
  • Adhere to safety and infection control protocols and support dermatology clinicians during Mohs procedures.
  • Help optimize laboratory workflows and turnaround times.

Role Description

The Mohs Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Vancouver, WA. Day-to-day responsibilities include receiving and orienting tissue specimens, embedding tissue, performing cryosectioning, and preparing frozen sections for microscopic evaluation. The technician will carry out routine H&E staining and special stains as directed, maintain equipment and instruments, and ensure proper labeling and documentation of all specimens and slides. Additional duties include adhering to safety and infection control protocols, supporting dermatology clinicians during Mohs procedures, and helping optimize laboratory workflows and turnaround times.
