DOCS Dermatology Group in Glenview, IL is seeking a Mohs Medical/Surgical Assistant to support physicians in surgical and medical dermatology settings. You will provide safe, compassionate care and assist during exams and procedures.

Responsibilities include preparing sterile trays, recording medical history and vitals in the EHR, taking photographs, assisting in Mohs surgery prep, and educating patients on post‑care. Travel to various Docs offices may be required.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience in a medical setting.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Detail oriented and professional attitude.
• Understanding of HIPAA guidelines.
• Some offices within the Docs Dermatology Group network may require travel.

Responsabilités

• Serve as a patient advocate during exams, surgery and treatment.
• Review medical history and confirm purpose of visit.
• Escort patient to exam or surgical room.
• Review and obtain surgical informed consent prior to procedure.
• Take appropriate photographs.
• Record patients' medical history, medications, allergies, vitals and test results in the EHR.
• Prepare sterile surgical tray and assist during Mohs surgery as directed.
• Prepare patient for Mohs surgery and administer local anesthetic as directed.
• Collect specimens and prepare them for testing.
• Provide patient care and assist physician during procedures.
• Educate patient on post‑care instructions.
• Document prescriptions and provide to pharmacies.
• Scrub in for surgical and office visits; sterilize instruments.
• Prepare treatment rooms and maintain cleanliness.
• Dispose of waste and biohazard materials.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate care.
• Change wound dressings.
• Triage calls and document interactions.
• Notify patients of results.
