Job summary

The Dermatology Specialists is hiring a medical assistant to join our expanding dermatology practice. You will support Mohs cases, prepare surgical rooms, and assist with patient education and documentation. Weekend flexibility and a 40-hour full-time schedule are required as we grow our footprint in the region.

Ideal candidates have dermatology or Mohs experience, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. EMR experience is a plus, and a supportive team environment awaits.

Qualifications

• Experience in dermatology, surgical assisting, or Mohs surgery strongly preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and comfort working with specimens.
• Excellent communication and patient-care skills.
• Ability to multitask in a quick clinical environment.
• EMR experience (eClinicalWorks/EMR of your choice) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain surgical rooms and instruments for all Mohs cases.
• Assist during Mohs procedures, ensuring proper sterile technique.
• Handle, label, and transport tissue specimens accurately.
• Document patient information, procedure notes, and pathology details in EMR.
• Provide pre-op and post-op patient education and wound-care instructions.
• Perform clinical tasks including suture removal, dressing changes, and wound checks.
• Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and restock as needed.
• Support clinic flow and collaborate with the dermatology team to ensure a smooth patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

Compensation: $23 per hour
