Job summary

Volumetric Building Companies (VBC) is actively seeking a Quality Inspector to join our manufacturing team. You will inspect modular building structures from framing to finish before shipment, ensuring adherence to approved documents and specifications.

You will log data, assist with control plans, and support third-party audits to maintain high-quality standards. Ideal candidates have 3-5 years in a quality role and prefer Home Inspection or construction experience.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years’ experience working within a Quality organization.
• Home Inspection experience would be a big plus.
• Experience with Construction: familiarity with building materials and quality finished products.
• Knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for reporting.
• Ability to use fractions, decimals and convert between standard and metric units.
• Read and interpret blueprints/shop drawings; GD&T knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inspect modular building structures from framing to finish in a manufacturing setting.
• Coordinate inspections with the assigned area Supervisor.
• Ensure teams build quality products per approved documents and specs.
• Measure products using tape measures, calipers, levels, and meters.
• Compile data for QA and log time and reports in Procore and SAP.
• Assist QA with control/inspection plans and measurements.
• Support third-party auditors and obtain required quality certifications.
• Participate in daily production meetings and communicate across functions.
