Job summary

Interstates is seeking a Modular Estimator to develop timely, accurate estimates for modular electrical construction projects across multiple markets. You will collaborate with estimators, project managers, clients, and design professionals to prepare competitive proposals.

Location options include Sioux Center, IA; Omaha, NE; or Topeka, KS, with occasional travel up to 10%. The role requires an eye for detail, strong reading of drawings, and proficiency in MS Office tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; estimating/construction knowledge preferred.
• Experience with electrical construction or estimating is preferred.
• Strong ability to read drawings, specs, and project requirements.
• Proficiency with MS Office and Adobe Acrobat.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate, timely estimates for modular electrical construction projects.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and scope requirements.
• Prepare budget pricing from schematic drawings and project information.
• Identify value-engineered alternatives to plans and specifications.
• Draft scope letters, proposals, bid packages, and vendor solicitations.
• Attend job walks, pre-bid meetings, and project discussions with clients and design professionals as needed.
• Collaborate on change orders and cost-to-complete estimates for active projects.
• Help develop estimation standards for design-build and plans-and-specifications work.
• Manage deadlines in a precise, organized manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
