Job summary

Johnson Service Group seeks a Senior Modifications Manager to lead the implementation of plant modification activities at the site, ensuring compliance with company, federal, state regulations and radiological protection requirements.

The role manages the Modifications organization, site prime contractors, and field engineers, while supervising staff and maintaining documentation and training programs to minimize risk and ensure on-time delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in engineering or related science, or equivalent education, training and experience.
  • At least 10 years in nuclear plant modification, maintenance, design, operation or QA.
  • Supervisory experience in maintenance, modifications, or planning and technical activities.
  • Must obtain and maintain nuclear plant unescorted access.
  • Past Senior Reactor Operator's License or equivalent is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Manage implementation of plant modification activities in accordance with design documents and regulatory requirements.
  • Direct the Modifications organization and site contractors to meet scope, schedule and budgets.
  • Act as principal Company Nuclear spokesperson on modifications at the site.
  • Develop and manage labor, tools, and materials to accomplish work.
  • Ensure safety, craft qualification, and training programs are in place.

Job description

This position manages the implementation of plant modification activities in support of plant operations, ensuring that managed activities are conducted in accordance with applicable Company,Federal, and state regulations and radiological protection requirements. Manage the activities of the site Modifications organization. Responsible Technical Contract Manager (TCM) for the multiple contractors including the site prime. Supervise personnel reporting directly to the site Modifications Manager. Manage modification activities in accordance with approved design documents and applicable Companyand Federal and state requirements to ensure the activities are properly documented and that records are maintained. Manage onsite field support for temporary plant facilities. Manage the development and implementation of programs to verify modifications technical and craft personnel are qualified and certified. Manage the development and implementation of a system to identify, schedule, and control the labor, tools, and materials necessary to accomplish the assigned work. Direct the management of all modifications labor contracts at the job site in accordance with Company procedure and design approval documents. Act as the principal Company Nuclear spokesperson on matters related to modifications at the site. Manage the development of methods and procedures to minimize employee injuries and safeguard employee health. Manage the site major Modifications contractor, and contract employees ensuring compliance in meeting site goals related to project scope, schedule, budget, technical compliance and direction. Review and approve preliminary estimates and project schedules as required and participates in the engineering and construction review meetings and management review meetings where approval of tentative schedules and budgets are made. Review Modifications project progress reports and forecasts and initiates appropriate corrective action when necessary. Develop and submit a budget to the Assistant Plant Manager and operate within the approved budget. Direct the management of Field Engineer activities during the implementation and testing of modifications activities. Serves as member of Site Radiological Emergency Plan (REP) management team, ensures staffing to support site REP. Responsible for oversight of technical content for applicable training.

Minimum Qualifications

Education — B.S. degree in engineering or related science or equivalent education, training and experience, or successfully held the Modifications Manager position or another comparable nuclear power plant facility. Shall have nondestructive testing familiarity, craft knowledge, and an understanding of electrical, pressure vessel, and piping codes and standards

Experience —At least 10 years of experience in the field of nuclear plant modification, maintenance, design, operation, or quality assurance. Experience shall include the individual having participated in maintenance or modification section activities of an operating nuclear power plant during at least one refueling outage. Should have prior supervisory experience in maintenance, modifications, or planning and technical activities.

Certification/License, etc — Must obtain and maintain requirements for nuclear plant unescorted access. Past Senior Reactor Operator's License or equivalent training is desirable

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Candidate may be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance based on position / access requirements and essential job functions.
