Job summary

Valiant Integrated Services, LLC seeks a Model Maker I to fabricate training aids, VISMODs, and related devices from detailed drawings. The role involves assembly, painting, and maintaining both mechanical and electrical units, adhering to safety and quality standards.

The candidate should have 1+ year of related fabrication experience, be able to read blueprints, and hold a valid CA driver’s license. Willingness to overtime and working in a shop environment at Fort Irwin is required.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of fabricating/specialist/repairman experience.
• 2+ years of wood, metal, plastic and fiberglass work; torch cutting.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints/drawings.
• Experience with lathe, mill, MIG & TIG welding operations.
• Valid CA driver’s license and English literacy.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate training aids and VISMOD kits from blueprints and sketches.
• Fabricate devices and training aids to full-scale and scaled models.
• Paint items using brushes or spray units; apply signs and color codes.
• Maintain and repair training aids, mechanical and electrical units.
• Ensure safety standards and quality control procedures are followed.
• Assist higher-grade craftsmen and support shop operations.
