Job summary

Applied Technology Solutions, Inc. (ATS) in Huntsville, AL seeks a Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to develop and maintain MBSE models for complex system-of-systems architectures using Cameo Systems Modeler and MagicDraw.

You will support hypersonic wind tunnel development and lead modeling standardization efforts. The role requires 3–5 years in cross-disciplinary engineering, experience with DoD/NASA lifecycle activities, and mentoring peers in MBSE.

Qualifications

• MBSE modeling experience with Cameo/MagicDraw in complex system designs.
• Experience creating MBSE modeling standards or guides for multi-user environments.
• Experience applying systems engineering processes across engineering lifecycles.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field.
• 3–5 years of cross-disciplinary engineering experience.
• Experience with DoD or NASA lifecycle activities and milestone reviews.
• Leadership or mentorship in MBSE model development and administration.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

Required Qualifications

We're Looking for Candidates With:

• Demonstrated experience developing MBSE models using Cameo Systems Modeler / MagicDraw for complex system-of-systems designs
• Experience developing MBSE modeling standards or guidebooks supporting multi-user environments
• Experience applying systems engineering processes across the engineering lifecycle
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field
• 3-5 years of relevant experience supporting cross-disciplinary engineering teams
• Experience supporting United States Department of Defense or NASA engineering lifecycle activities and milestone reviews
• Experience leading, mentoring, or training team members in MBSE model development and administration
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Self-driven mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced engineering environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Aerospace, mechanical, or other physics-based engineering experience
• Familiarity with engineering and requirements management tools such as IBM Engineering Requirements Management DOORS Next (DNG), Jama Connect, and Jira
• Experience supporting hypersonic systems, wind tunnel development, or advanced R&D programs
• Familiarity with model-based design integration across multidisciplinary engineering teams
