Job summary

Citibank, N.A. in Long Island City, NY seeks a Model/Analysis/Validation Officer to lead independent review of AI/ML models and non-model tools across Citi businesses.

You will manage end-to-end validation engagements, design governance frameworks, and serve as a liaison with sponsors, developers, auditors, and regulators. A hybrid schedule may be allowed within a commutable distance from the worksite.

Qualifications

Job description

Model/Analysis/Validation Officer

Citibank, N.A. seeks a Model/Analysis/Validation Officer for its Long Island City, NY location.

Responsibilities
  • Provide independent review, governance oversight, and effective challenge of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), statistical models, and AI/ML non-model tools used across Citi businesses.
  • Lead end-to-end validation engagements, including scoping, methodology design, execution, and final conclusions, in accordance with Model Risk Management (MRM) policies and regulatory expectations.
  • Design and implement comprehensive governance frameworks, policy procedures, and validation methodologies.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with business sponsors, developers, auditors, and regulators, ensuring transparent communication of risk findings and remediation plans.
  • Oversee deliverables of multiple validators and perform quality assurance reviews to ensure methodological rigor and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct forward-looking research on rapidly evolving AI technologies and develop adaptive validation guidelines and methodological frameworks for emerging AI/ML applications.
  • Lead internal training, mentor junior analysts, and contribute to MRM policy development and regulatory reporting initiatives.

A telecommuting/hybrid work schedule may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite in accordance with Citi policies and protocols.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Applied Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience in model performance validation and governance, including:
    • Performing model validation support activities within an established governance framework, applying documented procedures/standards, and completing input data quality checks.
    • Executing quantitative testing, preparing analysis-ready datasets, performing parameter testing, benchmark comparisons, stability testing, and documenting results in reports or draft summaries.
    • Coordinating with cross‑functional stakeholders during model review cycles, including business sponsors, developers, and risk managers.
    • Applying statistical and analytical methods to evaluate model performance, including hypothesis testing, regression analysis, time‑series or stability back‑testing, using Python or R (or a similar statistical programming language) and at least one of SQL or SAS.
    • Preparing written analytical reports and briefs that support communication with senior managers, internal/external auditors as applicable.
    • Maintaining documentation and tracking artifacts, including organizing workpaper files and updating inventories/logs to support validation recordkeeping and review readiness.
  • In the alternative, a Master’s degree and three (3) years of experience will be accepted.
  • 40 hours per week.

Salary & Benefits

Wage Range: $158,700.00 to $190,700.00.

In addition to base salary, Citi may offer discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
