William Charles Construction, a MasTec company, is seeking a Mobilization Supervisor to lead the Equipment Department’s service operations. Based in Rockford, IL, you will ensure equipment is serviced per manufacturer guidelines, safely, efficiently, and within budget, with about 15% travel to job sites and vendors.

You will manage field and shop mechanics, enforce best practices, monitor work orders, and coordinate quotes and warranties to keep fleet availability high.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree
• Minimum 5 years of experience servicing heavy equipment in construction or dealership environments
• Valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record

Responsibilities

• Develops and enforces best practices within the Equipment Department to ensure efficiency
• Allocates resources, assigns workloads, and manages schedules for timely service delivery
• Monitors field and shop service repairs and closes work orders promptly
• Dispatches field/shop mechanics based on priority, location, and skill
• Ensures work adheres to manufacturer standards and company policies
• Reviews vendor quotes and estimates for services, tools, parts, and supplies
• Audits invoices for accuracy and resolves discrepancies
• Coordinates warranty repairs and warranty item handling
• Maintains fleet equipment availability and applies new technologies as relevant
• Maintains safety compliance with DOT, OSHA, MSHA and other regulations
• Manages inventory levels of parts, tools, and supplies
• Develops and maintains vendor list and evaluates service quality
• Performs other duties as assigned

William Charles Construction, a MasTec company is hiring a Mobilization Supervisor to support our equipment department.

The Mobilization Supervisor is responsible for but not limited to managing an efficient service operation ensuring all Company equipment and vehicles are serviced accurately according to manufacturer guidelines, safely, quickly and within budget constraint.

This role is based in our Rockford, IL office and is required to travel to various job site locations and equipment vendors approximately 15% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Develops and enforces best practices within the Equipment Department business unit to ensureoperational efficiency and effectiveness
• Identifies resources, assigns workloads, and manages schedules to ensure timely delivery of servicework performed
• Monitors field and shop service repair jobs and hours including closing all work orders in a timelymanner
• Manage and dispatch field/shop mechanics based on job priority, location, and technician skillset
• Ensures work is performed accurately to manufacturer recommended standards and in compliance withcompany policies and procedures
• Secures, analyzes and approves vendor quotes, and estimates for services, tools, parts, and supplies
• Review invoices for accuracy and dispute any discrepancies
• Applies knowledge to warranty items, warranty requests, and coordinate warranty repairs.
• Ensures the operational availability of fleet equipment
• Keep current on new technologies as they relate to management of equipment and apply accordingly.
• Maintains a safe working environment in compliance with Federal, State and Local regulation, includingDOT, OSHA and MSHA
• Monitors and control inventory levels of parts, tools, and supplies
• Develop and maintain vendor list and continuously monitor overall quality of service provided
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Equipment Service Management or Business Management preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
• Minimum 5 years of experience in servicing heavy equipment in the construction industry or dealership environment
• Must have and maintain a valid state issued Driver’s License with driving record that meets William Charles Construction’s risk management guidelines

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Proficient with computer systems as they relate to utilization of scheduling of manpower/resources, implementation of preventative maintenance programs, inventory management systems, along with MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Experience with ERP system – Visa Viewpoint Preferred
• Thorough knowledge of cost tracking and equipment life cycles
• Strong commitment to safety

• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain rapport
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong leadership and team building skills

Work Environment

• May be exposed to extreme temperatures in the field – hot and cold
