Job summary

BMW Group in Mountain View, CA is offering a Spring 2027 internship in Scouting and Academia. The program runs January 11, 2027 to May 14, 2027, with a hybrid work environment and in-office days in Mountain View.

Responsibilities include analyzing emerging trends in mobility tech, reporting on VC/startup activity, supporting innovation projects, and helping expand startup ecosystem partnerships. US work authorization is required; GPA minimum 3.0 and 60 credits completed.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program at an accredited college or university.
• US Work Authorization required.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (overall, not just major).
• Completed at least 60 college credit hours at the time of application.

Responsibilities

• Scout, analyze and understand emerging trends, technologies and materials in Mobility, Consumer Electronics, Digital Ecosystems, Autonomous Vehicles, Sustainability and other trends shaping BMW Group R&D.
• Track activities and provide routine executive summaries with focus on VC and Startup activity in the U.S.
• Identify trends and technologies in startups/corporations/universities within focus areas.
• Support project management of innovation projects and track engagement activity.
• Support networking initiatives by identifying startup ecosystem partners including venture capital, accelerators, university programs and startups.
