Job summary

Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Mobility Technician to support patient mobility and clinical staff on the Post Op Recovery Unit. The role is part-time, 9am–5pm, two to three days a week on the Day shift.

The ideal candidate has a High School diploma and BLS certification, with compassionate communication for fast-paced inpatient care. This position is based at Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association (AHA) is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist clinical staff with patient mobility and functional activities.
• Transport patients to and from treatment areas and assist in exercises as directed.
• Inspect and maintain mobility equipment and support devices.
• Perform basic clerical tasks to support clinical staff in treatment plans.

Department / Position Overview

We are looking for candidates with compassion and great communication skills to work in this fast-paced environment with our most critical patients.

The Mobility Technician is responsible for assisting clinical staff and members of the interprofessional healthcare team, as assigned, under the direct supervision of clinical staff within inpatient setting. This position performs delegated activities that include but are not limited to patient mobility, infection control processes, assisting patients in practicing exercises or functional activities, transporting patients to and from treatment areas, inspecting and maintaining equipment, and a variety of basic clerical functions supporting clinical staff in successful provision of treatment plans.

Sentara Leigh Hospital, located in Norfolk, VA, is a 274-bed acute care facility that opened in 1903 and relocated to its present site in 1977. Compensation and Keywords

Keywords: Talroo-Allied Health. We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $18.75 - $27.81 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on‑call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra‑shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
