Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in Winfield, IL seeks a Mobility Tech to assist patients with mobility and ambulation under supervision. 16 hrs/wk (0.4 FTE) with responsibilities including safe ambulation and maintaining a clean patient environment.

Under the direction of rehabilitation staff and RNs, you will interact professionally with patients and families, explaining care aspects while adhering to safety and infection control guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Maintains patient rooms in a clean and neat manner, keeping the patient's environment up to safety standards upon entering and leaving a room.
• Performs patient ambulation responsibilities as appropriate and safe as trained by the rehabilitation staff.
• Interacts professionally with patient/family and involves patient/family in the formation of the plan of care under the direction of the RN.
• Provides explanation to patient and family prior to administering care to patients; answers questions within scope of practice.

• Assists patients with mobility and ambulation when the skilled care of rehabilitation professional is not indicated. Works under the direction and supervision of the charge nurse of the unit and the senior therapist on the rehabilitation team.
• 16 hrs/wk - 0.4 FTE

Responsibilities

• Maintains patient rooms in a clean and neat manner, keeping the patient's environment up to safety standards upon entering and leaving a room.
• Consistently demonstrates hourly rounding key behaviors.
• Follows standard precautions and infection control policies and procedures consistently.
• Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly, cleans equipment according to standards.
• Performs patient ambulation responsibilities as appropriate and safe as trained by the rehabilitation staff.
• Interacts professionally with patient/family and involves patient/family in the formation of the plan of care under the direction of the RN.
• Provides explanation to patient and family prior to administering care to patients; answers questions within scope of practice.
