Job summary

Thrive Pet Healthcare is seeking a licensed DVM to provide in-home euthanasia and compassionate end-of-life care for pets within the greater Los Angeles area. This role requires extensive travel to client homes, delivering respectful care in familiar surroundings.

You will join Hearts & Halos and Thrive’s team, benefiting from medical excellence and dedicated mentorship, while supporting families through difficult moments with empathy and professionalism.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM / VMD) or equivalent degree required.
  • State Veterinary Board License and must be in good standing for the state in which they intend to be hired, prior to their start date.
  • 100% travel required.
  • Active DEA license or DEA licensure eligible.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-home euthanasia and compassionate end-of-life care to pets in their homes.
  • Travel to homes of pets in need of in-home euthanasia as required.
  • Collaborate with Thrive Pet Healthcare and Hearts & Halos teams to ensure high-quality care and patient comfort.

About You

You’ll learn to confidently provide exceptional in-home end-of-life care, ending each day feeling happier with the peaceful knowledge that you made a memorable difference in the lives of many pets and their families. The level of gratitude you will feel from loving families is beyond compare.

The ideal candidate would be willing and able to travel to the homes of pets in need of in-home euthanasia. They should demonstrate exceptional bedside manner, compassion, and respect for families at the end-of-life for their pet. Positive communication skills, self-motivation, and willingness to learn venipuncture are attributes ideal for this position.

Hearts & Halos Home Pet Euthanasia provides in-home euthanasia and aftercare. We are a team of compassionate veterinarians, specializing in end-of-life decision making, home pet euthanasia services, and final care options for our client’s dog, cat, or other pet.

We provide guidance, counseling, and the ability to give the pet a gentle, loving, and respectful transition in the comfort and peace of their favorite place…their home.

Our veterinary team has cultivated a motivational, positive, and supportive work‑environment. We pride ourselves on valuing staff opinions, setting our team up for success, and providing opportunities for growth. Team-positive mentality, dependability, and integrity in supporting our exceptional reputation are all equally important employee attributes.

We offer 3/10‑hour or 4/10‑hour shifts with a schedule of 8 am - 6 pm, allowing for travel time to and from appointments. Part‑time options may also be available.

Servicing greater Los Angeles, San Fernando Valley, San Gabriel Valley, and Orange County.

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with an annual full‑time range starting at $120,000/year for three 10‑hour shifts or $160,000/year for four 10‑hour shifts. The actual salary offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
