Job summary

Clean Harbors, Inc. is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Mechanic to perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs across multiple fleet locations. This role emphasizes safety, quality workmanship, and meeting scheduled PMs with flexibility for shifts and travel.

You need 1+ years of experience with heavy trucks, DOT inspections, and the ability to work nights/weekends as required. Tools required; compensation includes benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• 1+ years prior experience working on heavy‑duty trucks and equipment.
• 1+ years DOT inspection experience required.
• Must be able to provide own basic tools.
• Willingness to travel within assigned territory up to 70%.
• Attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and overtime as required.
• Ability to determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections, scheduled PM’s and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts and replacement as needed.
• Ability to pass a background, drug, and physical test upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Correct equipment deficiencies and perform preventative maintenance on company equipment.
• Inspect equipment to identify unsatisfactory conditions.
• Comply with PPE requirements during all tasks.
• Travel to other locations to perform repairs and maintenance as needed.
• Complete and submit PM scheduling paperwork.
• Maintain active light‑duty or DQ driver status as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times.
