Job summary

Cox Automotive is hiring Mobile Inspectors to conduct on-site vehicle condition inspections for dealer clients within an assigned territory. The role offers on-site and remote work options, with hourly pay and potential incentives based on inspection volume.

We welcome applicants at all levels: Level 1, Level 2, and Senior. A valid driver’s license and basic automotive knowledge are required, along with the ability to work independently and meet safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimal automotive knowledge preferred.
• 0-1 years automotive-related experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a safe driving record required.
• Ability to meet physical and mental demands of the role within required timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections per Manheim inspection standards.
• Locate, start, move, inspect, and return vehicles on dealer lots.
• Verify VINs, mileage, and options; ensure accurate system entry.
• Document exterior condition, tires, frame, glass, panels, and components.
• Document interior condition and installed options.
• Perform basic mechanical checks of powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical components.
• Identify and document damage or missing components.
