The ideal candidate has an active Texas RN license, 1.5–2 years of vascular access experience, and strong skills in PICC/midline/peripheral IV procedures, patient education, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Active Texas RN license.
• 1.5–2 years of vascular access RN experience.
• Proficiency with vascular access devices (PICC, midlines, peripheral IVs).
• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to manage and troubleshoot device-associated complications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient/family education.

Responsibilities

• Perform insertion, maintenance, and management of vascular access devices (e.g., ultrasound-guided peripheral IVs, PICC lines, midlines).
• Conduct patient assessments to determine appropriate vascular access device based on needs and conditions.
• Educate patients and families about procedures, device care, and maintenance.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and specialists to ensure quality care and optimal vascular access management.
• Maintain accurate documentation of vascular access procedures.
• Identify and address potential complications (infection, thrombosis, occlusions) and provide appropriate care.

The mobile Vascular Access RN will specialize in the assessment, placement, and management of vascular access devices for patients requiring intravenous (IV) therapy in various locations within Texas. The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of vascular access techniques, patient care protocols, and the ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment while delivering high‑quality care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform insertion, maintenance, and management of vascular access devices (e.g., ultrasound‑guided peripheral IVs, PICC lines, and midlines) following evidence‑based practice protocols.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine the most appropriate vascular access device based on individual needs and medical conditions.
• Provide patients and families with information regarding vascular access procedures, device care, and maintenance, ensuring patient understanding and comfort.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams (physicians, nurses, specialists) to ensure comprehensive patient care and optimal vascular access management.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of vascular access procedures.
• Identify and address potential complications such as infection, thrombosis, and occlusions; provide care and interventions as necessary.

Qualifications

• Licensure: Current active RN license in Texas.
• Experience: Minimum of 1.5–2 years as a vascular access RN.
• Skills:
  • Proficiency in vascular access devices and procedures (PICC, midlines, peripheral IVs, etc.).
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical‑thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage and troubleshoot complications associated with vascular access devices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to educate and support patients and families.
• Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, and perform manual dexterity tasks for extended periods; ability to lift and position patients as necessary.

Travel

• Must be willing to travel for procedures.
