Job summary

Cox Automotive in the United States is hiring a Mobile Trailer Technician II to support on-site field service nationwide, with remote-working flexibility if you reside in the designated area. You will perform certified DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and light trailer repairs at customer sites.

The role requires hands-on mechanical skills, ability to document work via the TRAIT/iOS tools, and adherence to safety and DOT regulations.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; 3 years’ related experience may substitute.
  • DOT inspections and preventive maintenance experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to work in field service.

Responsibilities

  • Perform DOT inspections and preventive maintenance on trailers with minimal supervision.
  • Document work in Repair Orders using the TRAIT app on an iOS device.
  • Repair trailer brakes, air lines, pumps, engines, liftgates, and related systems.
  • Complete DOT forms accurately and timely.
  • Diagnose electrical components and troubleshoot issues.
  • Maintain safety and confidentiality of company information.
  • Manage parts inventory and service truck equipment.
