Mobile Trailer Technician

Job Summary

The Mobile Trailer Technician is responsible for inspecting,diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial trailers at customerlocations, roadside service calls, and fleet facilities. This role requiresstrong mechanical skills, the ability to work independently in the field, and acommitment to providing safe, efficient, and professional service to customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performinspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on commercial trailers.
  • Respondto roadside service calls and customer locations in a timely manner.
  • Repairor replace trailer components, including:
  • Brakes
  • Suspensionsystems
  • Lightingand electrical systems
  • Landinggear
  • Wheelseals and bearings
  • Tiresand wheels
  • Doors,roofs, and trailer bodies
  • Conductpreventative maintenance inspections (PMIs).
  • Troubleshootand repair air brake systems.
  • Weldand fabricate trailer components as needed.
  • Maintainaccurate service records, work orders, and inspection reports.
  • Ensureall work complies with DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards.
  • Operateand maintain a mobile service truck, tools, and equipment.
  • Communicaterepair findings and recommendations to customers and supervisors.
  • Manageinventory of parts and supplies carried in the service vehicle.
  • Participatein on-call or after-hours service rotations when required.

Qualifications

Required

  • Highschool diploma or GED.
  • Validdriver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Experiencein trailer repair, diesel mechanics, automotive repair, or a relatedfield.
  • Knowledgeof air brake systems, suspension systems, and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Abilityto lift up to 75 pounds and work in various weather conditions.
  • Strongproblem-solving and customer service skills.
  • Abilityto work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred

  • Weldingand fabrication experience.
  • CommercialDriver's License (CDL).
  • Previousmobile service or field technician experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequentlylift, carry, push, and pull heavy components.
  • Workin outdoor environments and roadside conditions.
  • Stand,kneel, bend, crawl, and climb for extended periods.
  • Safelyoperate power tools, hand tools, and diagnostic equipment.
