Job summary

Family Services of NW PA is seeking a Mobile Therapist/Behavior Consultant for Project SOAR/ROAR to support elementary students in Maplewood and Cambridge Springs with up to 15 caseload clients. Requires masters-level training, practicum, and clinical experience in behavior modification and family dynamics.

Travel to county areas and collaboration with schools are essential. The position offers a $2,000 sign-on bonus, benefits including retirement plan with matching, life and disability

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in psychology, social work, education, counseling or related field with practicum and direct service experience.
  • Minimum one year of clinical experience addressing behavior modification, family dynamics, or related practice.
  • BC/MT preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Design behavioral interventions for up to 15 students in collaboration with families and schools.
  • Develop treatment/crisis/transition plans for up to 15 students.
  • Provide individual therapy and supervise psychoeducational groups.
  • Maintain monthly contact with primary caregivers (1–4 times).
  • Provide crisis intervention and participate in team meetings.
  • Offer clinical guidance to Behavior Health Technician.
  • Serve as liaison to school district administration, family and community.
  • Data collection and evaluation of program effectiveness.
  • Attend and support four-step psycho-education for Family Night.
  • Trained and certified in CANS assessment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Mobile Therapist/Behavior Consultant for Project SOAR/ROAR works with students in Maplewood Elementary School and Cambridge Springs Elementary School. Responsible for a caseload of up to fifteen (15) students and can provide interventions for any student. Provides direct services to individuals and families on assigned caseload. coordinates case effects with funding source and related agencies. Day and evening driving to County areas is required. Access to reliable transportation is essential. Team member should be skilled with treatment plan development, skilled with individual and group therapy, skilled with the application of Behavioral Modification, knowledgeable of a variety of standardized assessment tools, and has knowledge of child development. Team member should be able to effectively manage self in crisis situations (violence, physical aggression, etc). Team member should be able to work within the context of a family setting. Must be able to follow a prescribed treatment plan.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Designs behavioral interventions in collaboration with the family, treatment team and schools for a maximum of fifteen (15) students.
  • Performs treatment/crisis/transition plan development for a maximum of fifteen (15) students.
  • Provides individual therapy and supervision of psychoeducational groups
  • Provides face-to-face, school or community and/or telephone contat with student's primary caregiver(s) a minimum of one to a maximum of four times per month
  • Provides crisis intervention; attends and directs team meetings
  • Provides clinical guidance for Behavior Health Technician
  • Acts as the administrative and clinical liaison to the SBBH school district administration, family, and community.
  • Performs datacollection and model evaluation. Maintains students' behavioral health paperwork/records.
  • Attends and implements the four-step psycho-education for monthly Family Night
  • Trained and certified in CANS assessment
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Master'sdegree with at least nine credits specific to clinical practice in psychology, social work, education, counseling or a related field from an accredited college or university, has completed a clinical or mental health direct service practicum, and has a minimum of one-year clinical experience directly working with clients to address behvavior modification, family dynamics, or a related practice. Previous work as a BC/MT preferred but not required.
