Job summary

Jobtailor in the United States is seeking a mobile installer to equip fleets with GPS, telematics, and safety cameras. You will install on light-duty vehicles, commercial trucks, and trailers, performing 12V/24V wiring and basic diagnostics while traveling to customer sites.

You must read wiring diagrams, troubleshoot issues, document installations with photos and notes, and maintain a strong focus on safety and right-first-time work.

Qualifications

• Hands-on automotive, electrical, mechanical, or installation experience.
• Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and basic diagnostics.
• Comfortable reading wiring diagrams and technical instructions.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Professional communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot GPS, ELDs, telematics, dash cameras, sensors, and tracking equipment
• Work on light-duty vehicles, commercial trucks, tractors, trailers, and other fleet assets
• Perform basic 12V/24V wiring, including power, ignition, ground, diagnostic, and trailer connections
• Route and secure wiring for clean, professional installations
• Test GPS, cellular connectivity, cameras, sensors, and system functionality
• Diagnose electrical, connectivity, and installation issues
• Document completed installations with photos, device information, and service notes
• Travel to customer and fleet locations for mobile installations and projects
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and right-first-time installations
