Job Summary:

The Mobile Software Engineer will design, develop, and evolve mobile applications for Telular’s Fleets IoT platform. Working with a collaborative product and engineering team, you will deliver secure, reliable experiences that help customers perform critical fleet-management activities as part of their daily operations. You will play a key role in shaping the mobile architecture, implementation approach, and development environment, applying deep knowledge of C#, .NET MAUI, REST APIs, service-oriented architecture, and object-oriented programming.

Key responsibilities include:

• Design, architect, implement, test, release, and support secure, reliable mobile applications and their integration with Fleets platform services.
• Own mobile features throughout their lifecycle, from discovery and technical design through development, release, monitoring, support, and continuous improvement across supported iOS and Android devices.
• Develop high-level product specifications with attention to system integration and feasibility.
• Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, backend engineers, quality engineers, and customer-facing teams to translate fleet-management workflows and customer feedback into intuitive, accessible mobile experiences.
• Define mobile architecture, technology choices, development workflows, coding standards, reusable components, and integration patterns that support maintainability, scalability, security, and consistent behavior across platforms.
• Improve delivery speed, application quality, and operational reliability through automated builds, testing, release pipelines, telemetry, and targeted process improvements.
• Communicate architecture decisions, technical trade-offs, coding guidelines, and implementation plans clearly to engineers and cross-functional partners.
• Participate actively in Agile planning, estimation, design reviews, code reviews, retrospectives, and DevOps practices that improve team delivery and product quality.

Qualifications:

• Expertise in software engineering practices (e.g., reading/generating software specs, design patterns, continuous integration)
• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or computer science. Master’s degree in computer science preferred.
• 7+ years of hands‑on software engineering experience, including responsibility for mobile architecture and technical decisions across the application development lifecycle.
• Demonstrated experience building, signing, testing, releasing, and supporting production-grade mobile applications, including secure coding, authentication, data protection, API integration, performance optimization, and mobile cybersecurity best practices.
• Proven hands‑on expertise using iOS TestFlight and/or Closed Testing Tracks for Android.
• Hands‑on experience developing cross‑platform mobile applications with C# and .NET MAUI, including platform‑specific integration and debugging for iOS and Android.
• Experience developing native mobile applications or platform‑specific components using Swift and SwiftUI for iOS and Kotlin and Jetpack Compose for Android, including native SDK integration, platform APIs, application lifecycle management, performance optimization, debugging, and interoperability with cross‑platform .NET MAUI code.
• Experience developing and troubleshooting Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) integrations for iOS and Android, including device discovery, pairing, GATT services and characteristics, permissions, background connectivity, data exchange, connection reliability, and interoperability with connected IoT or telematics devices.
• Practical experience with C#, RESTful APIs, SQL or NoSQL data stores, and ASP.NET Core services that integrate with mobile applications.
• Experience applying object‑oriented design, service‑oriented architecture, asynchronous programming, dependency injection, and resilient API‑integration patterns in production software.
• Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment.
• Demonstrable ability to own and deliver projects and results of increasing technical complexity.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Additional experiences considered highly beneficial:

• Practical application of C#, SQL or NoSQL, ASP.NET MVC / CORE.
• Experience with Git-based workflows, GitOps practices, automated code‑quality checks, and AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot.
• Experience applying AI-assisted development tools to code review, optimization, quality checks, change‑impact analysis, unit test generation, debugging, log analysis, and overall productivity improvement.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS environments that host or support APIs and services consumed by mobile applications.
• Good understanding of Analysis Services (OLAP) and reporting technologies.
• Experience with M2M, IoT, telematics, fleet management, or other connected device platforms.
• Experience using PostgreSQL databases.
