Job summary

Southern Tire Mart is seeking a Mobile Service Technician for weekend shifts in Piedmont, SC. You will respond to roadside and on-site service calls using a fully equipped service truck, mounting and balancing tires, and performing light mechanical repairs as needed.

The role requires the ability to lift 30–250 lbs., a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required), and strong problem-solving and customer service skills. DOT compliance and safety adherence are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Pre-employment drug screen required.
• CDL preferred but not required.
• Overtime may be required.
• Experience with heavy-duty/commercial tires preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to roadside and on-site service calls using a fully equipped service truck.
• Mount, dismount, balance, and repair tires including passenger, light truck, commercial, and industrial.
• Diagnose tire-related issues and perform light mechanical repairs.
• Inspect tires and wheels for wear and proper inflation.
• Perform fleet inspections and preventative maintenance checks as needed.
• Operate TPMS and other diagnostic tools.
• Maintain service truck, tools and equipment in safe condition.
• Follow DOT regulations and safety policies; communicate service details clearly.
• Assist with warehouse or shop duties when not on service calls.

Description

Key Responsibilities:

Respond to roadside and on-site service calls using a fully equipped service truck.

Mount, dismount, balance, and repair all types of tires, including passenger, light truck, commercial truck, and industrial.

Diagnose and repair tire-related issues and perform light mechanical repairs as needed.

Inspect tires and wheels for wear, damage, and proper inflation.

Perform fleet inspections and preventative maintenance checks when required.

Operate tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) and other diagnostic tools.

Maintain the service truck, tools, and equipment in safe operating condition.

Follow DOT regulations, company safety policies, and traffic laws at all times.

Provide exceptional customer service, including clear communication of service details and timelines.

Assist with warehouse or shop duties when not on service calls.

Skills / Education / Requirements:

Must be at least 21 years of age.

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (CDL preferred but not required).

• Possible overtime may be required.

Experience with heavy-duty/commercial tires preferred, but not required.

Ability to lift and move tires weighing 30–250 lbs., with or without mechanical assistance.

Capable of working independently in various weather and road conditions.

Strong problem-solving and customer service skills.
