Job summary

FleetPride in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Mobile Service Technician II to perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on Class 7 & 8 trucks and trailers in a shop between service calls.

The role requires 3+ years experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift 50 lbs; CDL is preferred. You’ll work with brake systems, suspensions, electrical, and perform test drives.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience repairing class 7 & 8 trucks and trailers.
• Diesel technology knowledge and hands-on repair skills.
• Welding experience and Air Brake Certification.

Responsibilities

• Examine vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunction.
• Provide preventative maintenance solutions, when appropriate.
• Maintain 80% productivity; prevent comebacks.
• Perform inspections and preventative maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Repair, reline, replace, and adjust brakes (air, hydraulic, electric).
• Test drive vehicles and test components using proper equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair suspension systems including leaf and coil springs.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, exhaust systems, steering systems, A/C, PTOs.
• Adjust, remove and replace clutches and drivelines.
• Troubleshoot and repair fuel tanks, fifth wheels, trailer hitches, auxiliary axles and frames.
• Perform tandem alignment, front axle king pin and bushing repairs.
• Perform basic aluminum and steel wire welding.
• Utilize machinery to repair or fabricate driveshafts.
• File, grind, sand and smooth surfaces with tools.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace and service truck.
• Practice safe driving.

Partner with the best in the heavy-duty industry and apply today!**GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION** The Mobile Technician II is expected to have mastered all applications of Preventative Maintenance and to perform basic and advanced adjustments, repairs and component replacements with limited supervision. Additionally, the Technician II will perform basic diagnostic operations in order to successfully diagnose vehicle system failures and suggest accurate system repairs. This technician will also work in the shop between service calls.
