Job summary

Commonwealth Equipment is seeking a Service Technician for our Winchester, VA location. This role involves diagnosing faults, repairing equipment, and performing regular maintenance on heavy equipment. Expect a Monday–Friday schedule, 40 hours per week, with a starting pay of $29 per hour depending on experience.

Successful candidates will demonstrate strong diagnostic skills, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, in a fast-paced field service environment.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Minimum 2 years of experience performing service repairs.
• Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.
• Ability to lift 75 lbs repeatedly.
• Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to use basic MS Office applications.
• Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
• Capable of working outside in all types of weather for on-site customer service and in-shop work.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and diagnose faults or malfunctions.
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts or systems using hand or power tools.
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance.
• Clean, lubricate and perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Complete all reports and forms required with work assignments.
• Maintain the mobile service vehicle, inventory, tools, and equipment.
• Follow safety rules and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
