Job summary

Peach State Truck Centers seeks an on-site field service technician to perform preventative and corrective maintenance on Class 5–8 trucks and RVs at varying locations away from main shops.

You will diagnose using hand and power tools, create work orders, maintain parts inventory, and coordinate weekly repair locations, while ensuring safety and OEM warranty compliance.

Qualifications

• Maintenance experience on Class 5–8 trucks and RVs per OEM guidelines.
• Ability to diagnose, repair, and complete work orders with accuracy.
• Strong communication with customers to identify repair needs.
• Attention to safety, tool handling, and warranty procedures.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and repairs truck systems using hand and power tools.
• Ensure repairs are completed per instructions.

• Create and maintain weekly repair location schedules.
• Maintain parts inventory on road service vehicles.

• Test drive trucks to diagnose malfunctions.
• Inspect and test defective equipment using test instruments.
• Keep work area clean and customer vehicles clean during/after repairs.

Job description

Responsible for performing maintenance on trucks from class 5 through class 8 vehicles and recreational vehicles per OEM and company guidelines at various locations away from the main shops.

• Diagnoses and repairs various truck systems using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists.
• Ensures that repairs are completed in a complete and accurate manner as per supervisor or work order instructions.
• Communicate with customers to understand their repair needs and advise of required repairs.
• Create and open work orders.
• Create and maintain weekly schedule of repair locations.
• Maintain proper parts inventory on road service repair vehicles.
• Schedule, maintain and report all maintenance for road service repair vehicles.
• Maintain correct time punches and work order processes.
• Maintains efficiency standards and attendance policy as required.
• Tags all parts as required and follows all warranty procedures set for the by each OEM
• Test drive trucks to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly.
• Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers, motor analyzers, chassis charts, and pressure gauges
• Keeps work area clean and free of debris.
• Keeps customer vehicle clean during repair process and after repairs are complete.
