Job Summary
- Perform on‑site diagnostic services, repairs, and maintenance work on refrigeration units.
- Manage and monitor service processes to ensure efficiencies that promote quality customer satisfaction.
- Treat customer requests seriously, respect the customer’s property, and exceed customer expectations. Work to accomplish departmental objectives by completing repair orders timely and accurately.
- Practice and promote a safety culture.
Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 hourly depending on experience
Schedule: Monday – Friday in Modesto, CA. Participation in an on‑call rotation is required to support operational and service needs outside of regular business hours.
Requirements
- Verify unit performance by diagnosing faults physically and via downloads.
- Determine unit condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests to identify worn and/or damaged parts. Correct system deficiencies by removing, repairing and adjusting faulty components.
- Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance schedules, installing component and parts upgrades, and controlling erosion. This involves occasional to frequent climbing, material handling, bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping, overhead reaching, and work on elevated surfaces.
- Consistently maintain cost by using warranty; evaluating services and repairs.
- Participate in training and educational opportunities provided by the company: read technical and regulation publications to increase job knowledge and demonstrate competencies.
- Complete repair orders and enter data at time of repair. Requires use of computer and keyboarding.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and be compliant with safety procedures.
- Respond promptly for emergency service calls.
Job Requirements
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Be able to pass a medical examiner’s test.
- Utilize critical thinking skills, problem‑solving abilities, and exercise good judgment when completing tasks efficiently, correctly, and productively.
- Coordinate tools, resources, and equipment to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Demonstrate active listening, oral and written comprehension, and commitment to performing quality service.
- Have basic computer and data entry skills for Windows‑based software programs (e.g., Karmak Fusion software) plus knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook and Word helpful.
- Comply with all personnel policies and practices.
- Be able to work alone for extended periods and in teams.
- May work in extreme heat or cold and inclement weather. Tasks involve constant reaching, standing, bilateral grasping, fine‑motor manipulation, and handling awkward positioning, walking, wrist and elbow movements.
- Maintain attendance and punctuality. Employees must arrive to work prior to the scheduled shift start time and avoid unscheduled or unauthorized absences as determined by company and departmental guidelines.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, twist, bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, climb stairs and ladders.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Ability to work in hot and cold temperature extremes.
- Ability to wear required PPE.
