Job summary

Best Logistics Group is seeking a Mobile Service Technician to travel to customer sites in the Charlotte market and Spartanburg/Greenville SC area to perform PMs, tire service and minor repairs on Class 8 trucks and trailers.

Primary duties include inspections, diagnostics, electrical repairs, and maintaining vehicle records. Overnight travel may be required; hotels provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have a clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
• Must be able to pass a background check (no priors within the last 7 years).
• CDL is preferred.
• Knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations and reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Make adjustments, alignments and repairs to vehicles.
• Conduct inspections, test drives and diagnostic tests.
• Test engine safety and combustion control standards to comply with regulations.
• Record services and repairs to maintain vehicle records.
• Complete preventive maintenance and basic repairs on Class 8 trucks and trailers.
• Order parts and manage inventory to ensure supplies.
• Collaborate with coworkers to complete repairs promptly.
• Stay updated on industry advances and best practices.

BESTis GROWING! We have exciting new opportunities that have been opened up in our Fleet Maintenance Department!

We are now hiring for a Mobile Service Technician! The main responsibility in this role will be traveling to customer sites to safely and efficiently maintain a varied fleet of equipment associated with our company. This person will also be required to "float" to cover open spots with other service trucks as needed. This technician will primarily cover our Charlotte market, as well as the Spartanburg/Greenville SC area.

Scheduled Shift:

Monday - Thursday, 5A to 5P
There may be occasional overnight stays in this role (hotels provided), depending on the scope of work and location where work is being completed. The primary focus in this role will be PM's, tires, and minor repairs on both Class 8 Trucks and Trailers. Check out more details on this role below!

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Make various adjustments, alignments and repairs to correct any vehicle deficiencies
• Conduct inspections, test drives and diagnostic tests to determine the condition of the vehicles
• Test engine safety and combustion control standards to comply with federal and state vehicle requirements
• Record services and repairs to maintain accurate vehicle records
• Complete preventative maintenance, install part upgrades, winterize vehicles and control corrosion to keep vehicles available
• Follow operating instruction, troubleshoot breakdowns, maintain supplies, perform preventative maintenance and call for repairs to keep shop equipment operational
• Place orders and keep stock of inventory to ensure necessary supplies at hand
• Collaborate with coworkers to get repairs done in a timely manner
• Stay up to date on industry advances by reading publication, talking with peers, continuing education and joining industry-related forums

• General knowledge of preventative maintenance for Class 8 Tractor Trailers
• Basic computer skills
• Prior trucking experience a plus
