Job summary

AC Disaster Consulting is seeking a Mobile Safety Associate/Driver to support safe operations of temporary mobile warming shelters in New York. The position is temporary, full-time, with an immediate start and involves overnight shifts and onsite work.

Compensation ranges from $33 to $35 per hour. Vehicles provided; drivers are not required to use personal vehicles. Benefits are not offered for this temporary role, with travel to client sites in NYC expected.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in public safety, emergency response, or related field.
• 2+ years operating passenger vans or fleet vehicles with safe driving record.
• 2+ years managing potentially volatile situations with de-escalation techniques.
• Valid Driver’s License and insurance in your name.
• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overnight shifts.

Responsibilities

• Manage guest flow, capacity, and line order during loading and offboarding.
• Conduct routine vehicle and surrounding area safety checks during shifts.
• Identify and report safety concerns or suspicious activity to leadership.
• Interact with guests using trauma-informed, respectful de-escalation.
• Assist in emergency responses and complete incident reports promptly.
• Maintain professional conduct and safety in all mobile warming shelter operations.
