Job summary

Hernando County BOCC is hiring for a recycling and maintenance role. You will collect recyclables from county facilities, sort materials, and transport them to the waste management facility while maintaining cleanliness around bins.

You will also educate the public on proper recycling practices, provide frontline customer service, and assist with routine maintenance and site upkeep in various weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of two years of experience in recycling or general maintenance.
• At least one year of experience hauling trailers or operating a small truck/trailer combination.

Responsibilities

• Collect recyclables from county facilities and designated businesses using a box truck or truck/trailer.
• Inspect and sort recyclable commodities and relocate to proper site at the waste management facility.
• Maintain recycling containers and keep areas around bins clean and accessible.
