Job summary

Trinity Rail in Bluffton, IN is hiring a Career Technician, Mobile Repair/Driver to join our railcar maintenance team. You will inspect cars, perform repairs, and ensure quality service while meeting customer expectations at our Bluffton site.

The role requires reading drawings, following AAR rules, and the ability to work in confined spaces or at heights. DOT regulations and on-the-job safety training are part of daily duties.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1.5 years’ experience in railcar maintenance or manufacturing.
• Experience with welding, air brake testing, or related disciplines is preferred.
• Ability to read engineered drawings and understand railcar components.

Responsibilities

• Conduct railcar inspections to ensure compliance.
• Perform repairs using current procedures and document work orders.
• Meet customer expectations and ensure a quality experience.
• Maintain accurate invoicing, inspection, and work order data.
• Pass required NDT disciplines and railcar certifications as needed.
• Participate in safety assessments and site inspections.
• Work in confined spaces or at elevated heights as required.
• Mentor/train lower-level technicians when needed.
• Adhere to safety rules and participate in safety initiatives.
