Job summary

Abel Personnel is seeking ARRT-certified Radiologic Technologists for multiple full-time mobile X-ray roles across Pennsylvania, including Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, York, Lancaster, and Gettysburg. These are 100% mobile, field-based positions with a company vehicle and portable X-ray equipment.

Technologists travel to healthcare sites to perform physician-ordered exams, producing high-quality images while following ALARA principles and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Active ARRT certification in the appropriate specialty.
• Applicable state licensure/requirements as required by law.
• Current continuing education requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform physician-ordered portable/mobile radiographic examinations.
• Travel between assigned healthcare locations using a company-provided vehicle.
• Position patients safely and appropriately for diagnostic examinations.
• Select and adjust imaging techniques and technical factors.
• Produce high-quality diagnostic images using portable radiographic equipment.
• Verify examination orders and accurately document patient and study information.
• Follow established imaging protocols, ALARA principles, and radiation-safety requirements.
• Coordinate with healthcare staff, physicians, patients, and internal team members.
• Independently organize and manage daily mobile assignments.
• Maintain assigned imaging equipment and company vehicle.
• Provide professional and compassionate patient care.

Mobile Radiologic Technologist (X-Ray) – Multiple Pennsylvania Locations

$30–$37/hour | Full-Time | Mobile / Field-Based

We are hiring ARRT-certified Radiologic Technologists for multiple full-time mobile X-ray opportunities throughout Pennsylvania.

• Pittsburgh
• Philadelphia

These are 100% mobile, field-based positions—not remote positions. Technologists travel to assigned healthcare locations to perform physician-ordered diagnostic imaging. A company vehicle, portable X-ray equipment, computer, phone, and necessary work equipment are provided.

Experienced technologists and qualified new graduates are encouraged to apply. Previous mobile X-ray experience is not required.

Current Territories & Schedules

Pittsburgh | $30–$32/hour

• Preferred schedule: 4x10s, approximately 10:00 AM–8:30 PM
• A 5x8 schedule, approximately 10:00 AM–6:30 PM, may be accommodated
• On-call: approximately one weeknight per week, every 5th–6th weekend, and 1–2 holidays per year
• Select approved in-home examinations may be included

York / Lancaster / Gettysburg | $30–$32/hour

• Schedule: 5x8s, approximately 12:00 PM–8:30 PM
• On-call: approximately 1–2 weeknights per week, every 3rd–4th weekend, and every 3rd–4th holiday

Philadelphia | $35–$37/hour

• On-call: approximately one weeknight every other week, every 6th–7th weekend, and every 6th–7th holiday

What You'll Do

• Perform physician-ordered portable/mobile radiographic examinations
• Travel between assigned healthcare locations using a company-provided vehicle
• Position patients safely and appropriately for diagnostic examinations
• Select and adjust imaging techniques and technical factors
• Produce high-quality diagnostic images using portable radiographic equipment
• Verify examination orders and accurately document patient and study information
• Follow established imaging protocols, ALARA principles, and radiation-safety requirements
• Coordinate with healthcare staff, physicians, patients, and internal team members
• Independently organize and manage daily mobile assignments
• Maintain assigned imaging equipment and company vehicle
• Perform EKG, Holter monitoring, pacemaker checks, and related procedures when trained and assigned
• Provide professional and compassionate patient care

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited Radiologic Technology program
• Active ARRT certification in the appropriate specialty
• Applicable state licensure/requirements as required by law
• Current continuing education requirements
• Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate a company-provided vehicle
• Strong patient-care and communication skills
• Strong organization and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently in a mobile/field-based environment
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation

Training & Ride-Along

New to mobile imaging? Previous mobile X-ray experience is not required. New employees receive training and support to learn the mobile workflow, equipment, territory, and expectations.

Following the interview, qualified candidates may have the opportunity to complete a ride-along to experience the position firsthand and see what a typical day looks like.
