Job summary

Ottobock SE & Co. KGaA in Wyomissing, PA seeks a Prosthetist/Orthotist to deliver quality prosthetics and related services. You will assess, cast, fit, adjust, and follow up with patients, including travel to third-party clinical locations, while guiding technicians in prosthesis fabrication.

The role requires ABC/BOC certification, a relevant degree, 3+ years of patient care experience, and willingness to travel. Excellent communication, organization, and patient-focused care are essential.

Qualifications

• ABC or BOC certification in good standing
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Orthotics and/or Prosthetics
• 3+ years of direct patient care as Prosthetist/Orthotist
• State licensure as required
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Willingness to travel regularly to patient homes, clinics and partner sites
• Flexible schedule based on patient needs and schedules
• Ability to manage a mobile patient care practice while maintaining high clinical standards
• Clear written and verbal communication with diverse stakeholders
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Deliver quality prosthetics and professional services to patients
• Assess, scan, cast, measure, fit, adjust and follow up with patients including travel to third-party locations
• Provide guidance to technicians responsible for fabrication of prostheses
• Perform fabrication as needed to ensure quality and timely delivery
• Conduct fitting, including static and dynamic alignments
• Evaluate and adjust prosthetics for fit and efficacy; perform outcome measures
• Provide patient instruction on device use and post-delivery service
• Maintain patient charts and accurate documentation
• Train technicians and apprentices as appropriate
• Develop referral networks and market services through professional relationships
• Identify process improvements to boost efficiency and productivity
• Work hours to vary with schedules; typical hours may range 7:00–8:00 a.m. to 5:00–6:00 p.m.
