Job summary

Premise Health Inc. is seeking Health Screeners in Peoria, IL to perform biometric screenings at local company events. This PRN role offers flexible scheduling and the chance to work in a fast-paced team environment.

You will conduct measurements such as height, weight, blood pressure, BMI, and fingerstick or venipuncture blood draws, ensuring accurate results and excellent patient care. A minimum high school diploma is required, with a national phlebotomy certification or approved program

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• National Phlebotomy certification from a Premise Health approved organization OR a phlebotomy program certificate with hands-on externship.
• Active state phlebotomy certification required for NV, CA, WA, and LA.
• 100 fingersticks in last year or 200 venipunctures in last 6 months.
• 1 year Health Screening or Phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform biometric testing: height, weight, blood pressure, BMI, body fat.
• Conduct fingerstick and/or venipuncture blood draws.
• Prepare specimens for storage/processing.
• Set up/break down portable biometric stations.
• Transport supplies to events (lifting up to 20 lbs).
• Maintain logs/records per regulations.

We are currently seeking Health Screeners to join our team in Peoria, IL!

About the role: These positions are as-needed opportunities and offer flexibility in scheduling and highly competitive pay. We send you out to local companies within your area to perform health screenings for the employees of the companies.

What would make you successful in this role? Strong customer service skills, previous venipuncture and/or fingerstick experience, ability to use a manual blood pressure cuff, tech savvy and excellent communication skills.

Essential Job Functions:

• Perform and record biometric testing results including, but not limited to height, weight, blood pressure, body fat, and BMI (Body Mass Index)
• Blood testing including fingerstick and / or venipuncture blood draws in a fast-paced environment
• Preparation of specimens for storage or additional processing
• Set up and break down portable blood draw / biometric station(s)
• May need to transport supplies to and from health screening events (lifting up to 20 lbs.)
• Maintains the logs and records for all Laboratory transactions and information in accordance with department and regulatory requirements
• Must have morning availability (Monday-Friday) for event-based employment
• May require other duties as assigned

Education:

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED is required
• Current national certification in Phlebotomy from a Premise Health approved organization OR one of the following:
• Certificate/Diploma and Transcripts from an accredited Phlebotomy program with hands-on externship completed
• Over 100 successful fingersticks within the last year or a minimum of 200 successful venipuncture blood draws within the last 6 months
• Active state specific Phlebotomy certification is required for candidates performing phlebotomy in NV, CA WA, and LA

Experience:

• 1 year of experience of Health Screening or Phlebotomy experience preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

• Have outstanding customer service skills

• Possess a strong attention to detail

• Knowledge and skills necessary to collect blood samples from patients.
• Ability to work independently, in a safe and appropriate manner in accordance with safety and organizational policies and procedures
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety concepts and OSHA regulations preferred.
