Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a phlebotomist to join our hospital team. This part-time role (24 hours per week) involves performing phlebotomy and related tasks across sites, with 8-hour shifts and rotating weekends/holidays.

You will handle specimen collection, processing, and patient registration, contributing to accurate lab results. The position requires a high school diploma and completion of an approved phlebotomy course or 1 year of phlebotomy experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; completion of an approved phlebotomy course or 1 year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Must meet safety protocols and lifting/standing requirements described in the job posting.

Responsibilities

• Computer operation as relevant to patient analysis, result reporting, patient demographics.
• Procurement of patient specimens for analysis.
• Inventory record keeping as directed.
• Bench maintenance as described in Blood-borne Pathogen Standard Manual.
• Dispensation of patient results.
• Train new employees.
• Mobile phlebotomy, nursing home, and on-call as directed.
• Process specimens that are being sent to reference laboratories.
• Patient registration, receptionist duties, specimen collection and processing at various laboratories on & offsite drawing stations.
