Job summary

Mako Medical is seeking a Travel Phlebotomist to service patients in Skilled Nursing Facilities and Private Residential homes in Bluffton, SC. You will collect urine and oral fluid specimens and phlebotomy samples with accuracy and timeliness.

Responsibilities include processing and packaging specimens, maintaining records, adhering to manuals and policies, and coordinating with managers to address issues. A courteous, confidential approach is essential as you support patient care and company

Responsibilities

  • Collects specimens according to established procedures.
  • Responsible for completing requisitions accurately
  • Process and package specimens for transport.
  • Maintains required records and documentation.
  • Reads, understands and complies with departmental policies, protocols and procedures.
  • Maintains all appropriate Collection logs.
  • Submits accurate expense forms, if applicable, on the required day.
  • Demonstrates organizational commitment.
  • Adheres to departmental and company code of grooming and dress code and lab coat policies, appearing neat and clean at all times.
  • Reports on time to work, following attendance guidelines.
  • Answers the telephone in a friendly and helpful manner, by incorporating the company name, self-identification and a helpful statement Communicates appropriately with clients, customers, coworkers and the general public.
  • Keeps information confidential per company and procedural policies.
  • Communicates all unresolved problems immediately to the appropriate Manager, Supervisor, Group Leader or Phlebotomy Services Rep. II for resolution.
  • Remains polite and courteous at all time.
  • Miscellaneous duties and responsibilities.
  • Keeps work area neat and clean.
  • Disposes of biohazard containers when scheduled.
  • Help with inventories and other tasks as assigned.
  • Stock supplies as needed.
  • Performs department-related clerical duties when assigned.
  • Answers phones and dispatches calls when assigned.
  • Participates on teams and special projects when asked.

Job description

Description Travel to Skilled Nursing Facilities and Private Residential homes to service patients. Treat all customers in a courteous manner. Ensures all urine and oral fluid specimens and phlebotomy specimens are collected accurately and on time.
