Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Mobile Phlebotomist to travel between locations, draw blood for Executive Health Program clients and other patients, and perform pre-analytical tasks. Most draws are early morning for fasting labs.

Responsibilities include delivering professional patient service, training others, and ensuring specimen integrity. The role requires a valid driver’s license and phlebotomy certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate required with 1+ year specimen collection/processing experience.
• Preferred: Phlebotomy experience at The University of Kansas Health System (TUKHS).
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; ability to drive to multiple locations.

Responsibilities

• Perform mobile phlebotomy and collect blood samples at various locations.
• Ensure proper patient identification and sample labeling.
• Maintain mobile phlebotomy totes with in-date supplies.
• Provide clear patient instructions and maintain professional conduct.
• Assist with pre-analytical tasks and sample processing using LIS/HIS systems.
• Train and mentor CLS students, nursing staff, and new employees.
