Job summary

Celestix Communications in Flint, MI is seeking a dedicated phlebotomy/medical assistant to support specimen collection and patient coordination across sites.

The role requires accurate data entry, proper labeling, and strong organizational skills. Travel to client sites is required; a high school diploma and relevant certification are preferred. Full-time position with benefits.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Coordinate collection of specimens at our Troy, MI lab.
• Provide instruction to patients on blood specimen collection.
• Label specimens and complete requisitions accurately.
• Prepare specimens and packaging in biohazard bags.
• Data entry and processing of specimens.
• Obtain billing information and demographic data.
• Ensure requisitions are complete and resolve missing data.
• Confirm reports are generated and facilitate lab inquiries.
• Serve as liaison between clinic and laboratory.
• Travel to client sites to provide collection.
• Provide excellent phlebotomy skills.

Job description

We are looking for dynamic individuals who enjoy a fast-paced environment and who can be flexible in relation to site scheduling. You must be able to coordinate all the patients that are due for their labs as well as be organized with the appropriate paperwork and collection. We have a full-time position in Flint/Saginaw, MI. • Coordinate and facilitate the collection of specimens to be processed at our laboratory, located in Troy MI
• Provide instruction to patients on how to provide blood specimens.
• Proper labeling of specimens, completion of requisitions and all other needed information.
• Prepare specimens and requisition forms, including packaging of the specimens into biohazard bags.
• Responsible for data entry and processing specimens accurately.
• Obtain billing information, including copies of patient insurance cards and demographic information.
• Ensuring the accurate completion of requisitions forms and assisting with all missing information requests when needed.
• Confirming reports are generated by laboratory for specimens processed and facilitating inquiries to laboratory.
• Thorough knowledge of all processes and will act as liaison between clinic and laboratory.
• Travel to client site to provide collection.
• Provide excellent phlebotomy skills.

Required Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certification preferred.

Work Experience:

• One year phlebotomy or MA experience preferred.
