Job summary

GYMGUYZ Rhode Island is seeking a Personal Training Manager who will lead, train and grow a local team while delivering personalized fitness sessions. This is a hands-on leadership role—combining client training, trainer development and business growth across Greater Providence & East Bay.

You’ll cultivate relationships with community partners, respond to inquiries, close new business, and mentor trainers to uphold high service standards as we expand.

Qualifications

• Nationally recognized CPT certification (NASM, ACE, ISSA, ACSM or equivalent).
• Current CPR/AED certification.
• 3–5 years of fitness experience with leadership or management experience.
• Proven success selling and retaining personal training clients.

Responsibilities

• Grow the business by building relationships with local businesses, healthcare providers, senior communities, schools, sports organizations and other community partners.
• Lead and mentor trainers; onboard new staff and coach programming, communication, and client retention.
• Deliver creative, individualized personal training and conduct assessments.
• Hold others accountable with respect and maintain high service standards as the team expands.

Personal Training Manager

We're looking for a Personal Training Manager who wants to do more than manage a schedule. You'll train clients, develop trainers and help grow GYMGUYZ throughout Rhode Island.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who combines confidence with humility, genuinely enjoys helping people succeed, and is excited by the opportunity to help build a growing business.

What You'll Own

Grow the Business

• Build relationships with local businesses, healthcare providers, senior communities, schools, sports organizations and other community partners
• Develop referral and corporate wellness partnerships
• Represent GYMGUYZ at community events and local initiatives
• Respond to inbound leads, conduct consultations and close new business
• Own new client, revenue and renewal goals
• Follow up consistently and track what is generating results

Train & Serve Clients

• Deliver creative, individualized personal training
• Conduct initial assessments and reassessments
• Build trusted relationships that lead to results, renewals and referrals
• Work with clients across different ages, abilities and fitness levels

Lead the Team

• Mentor, develop and support our personal trainers
• Help onboard new trainers
• Coach the team on programming, communication, professionalism and client retention
• Maintain a consistently high standard of service as we grow

You're as comfortable encouraging someone exercising for the first time as you are coaching an experienced athlete or developing another trainer.

What You Bring

• Current CPR/AED certification
• 3–5 years of fitness experience with leadership or management experience

• Confidence with community outreach and business development
• Ability to coach and hold others accountable with respect
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
• Flexibility for some early mornings and evenings

Compensation & Growth

Expected total earnings: $55,000–$85,000+, based on sessions delivered and business performance.
