Job description

We are seeking an experienced Optometrist to provide mobile eye care services at correctional facilities. This unique opportunity offers flexible scheduling, competitive daily rates, and the chance to serve a medically complex population in a secure environment.

• Openings for both part-time (1099) and full-time (W2 or 1099) roles
• Minimum daily rate: $1,000; average $1,500-$2,000 per day
• Full-time ODs can earn $350,000-$400,000 annually
• Up to $8,000 annually in CE reimbursements
• Up to 4 weeks of unpaid time off
• 401(k) with employer match

Requirements:

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree
• At least two years of recent medically-focused optometry experience, or the completion of residency training in ocular disease management, or similar, is required
• New graduates must have completed relevant residency training
• Ability to work independently and travel to multiple sites
• Willingness to work in correctional facility settings
• Comfortable managing complex ocular and systemic conditions
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
