Job summary

Cornhusker International Trucks, Inc. in Norfolk, NE is hiring Mobile Maintenance Technicians to service Class 6–8 trucks at customer sites.

You will travel to locations, perform routine PMs, diagnose issues with diagnostic tools, and maintain records. A 2–3 year diesel/auto tech background is preferred; CDL is optional. Excellent benefits and a brand-new work truck are provided.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years automotive/diesel experience preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail oriented.
• Clean driving record; CDL preferred, but not required.
• Pass background check, drug test and physical.
• Able to lift 10–75 lbs and work in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer locations for oil changes and maintenance on Class 6–8 trucks.
• Inspect engine, transmission, driveline, brake and cooling systems.
• Replace oil and fuel filters per manufacturer specs.
• Maintain service records, work orders, and inspection reports.
• Handle, store, and dispose of oils and lubricants per regulations.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify maintenance needs.

• 7:00 am - 4:00 pm (hours are flexible when on call)

Pay

• $30.00 - $45.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Travel to customer locations to perform oil changes, fluid checks, and other preventative maintenance on Class 6,7,8 trucks
• Inspect vehicle systems including engine, transmission, driveline, brake and cooling systems for potential maintenance issues.
• Replace oil filters, fuel filters and other serviceable components according to manufacturer specifications
• Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and inspection reports
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of oils, lubricants, and waste materials in compliance with environmental regulations
• Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify maintenance needs or mechanical concerns

Skills & Abilities

• Communication findings and recommended services to customers in a clear and professional manner
• Knowledgeable of proper repair techniques using equipment and tools
• Learns & understands the complete service repair order (RO) process
• Understands and follows all safety protocols in a mobile setting
• Practices good housekeeping when maintaining mobile truck, tools and inventory
• Stays abreast of state-of-the-art techniques when repairing vehicle systems

Qualifications

• At least 2-3 years of automotive, diesel technician or similar industry experience preferred
• Must posses effective written and verbal communication skills
• Must be detail oriented
• Must have a clean driving record; Commercial Driver's license preferred, but not required
• Must be at least eighteen (18) years old
• Must be able to pass a background check, drug test and physical
• Must be able to frequently lift 10 to 75 lbs without assistance
• Must be able to manage all weather elements - heat, cold, wind, wetness and humidity
