General Job Description

The Mobile Maintenance Advisor should be a capable leader, with the ability to organize the day-to-day operation. They must be capable of managing the entire service operation including mobile assignments, personnel, and standards of performance and work output to satisfy customer’s service needs.

Responsibilities
  • Ascertain repair problems and services by listening to customer's description of symptoms; clarifying description of problems; checking vehicle maintenance records; examining mobile schedules.
  • Verify warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and papers; explaining provisions and exclusions.
  • Develop estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labor; calculating customer's payment, including deductibles.
  • Prepare repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered as well as repairs and services required. Obtaining approvals, entering ROs into the service database system.
  • Maintain customer rapport by:
  • Explaining estimates and the expected completion of vehicle.
  • Obtaining customer's approval of estimates
  • Obtaining and providing contact telephone numbers, answering questions and concerns, and arranging towing and temporary transportation.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading manufacturers' publications.
  • Enhance the organization’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new client requests, and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Supervise and control the workload of mobile technicians.
  • Schedule service work according to priority, and maintain an orderly flow of work.
  • Communicate regularly with the Mobile Maintenance Manager regarding possible customer satisfaction and other related issues.
  • Advise customers of necessary repair services. Including estimates of cost and making recommendations to customers for preventative maintenance.
  • Review paperwork associated with repairing vehicles. Make sure all documentation for warranty claims are correct.
  • Take after hours calls, as needed, based on a rotation system.
  • Work in coordination with the Parts and Sales departments, as well as the Corporate Office staff and Management.
  • Listen to the concerns of the mobile personnel, and either address those concerns or bring them to management for possible solutions.
  • Inspect all completed work turned in to the mobile department as appropriate.
  • Recommend new shop equipment which will cut costs in shop and speed up work, or which will give the customer more complete coverage.
  • Issue purchase orders for the mobile department.
  • Travel to other locations, when needed, to assist in Service operations.
Requirements
  • 18 years of age.
  • High school graduate or GED.
  • Valid Class A, or Class B Commercial Driver License.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • 6 years of related truck or heavy equipment maintenance.
Desired Job Qualifications
  • 10 years of related truck or heavy equipment maintenance.
  • Degree in Business Management.

  • Mathematics: Ability to compute, analyze, and interpret numerical data for reporting purposes.

The noise level is occasionally loud.
