Job summary

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking veterinarians to provide in-home hospice and euthanasia services across Hampton & Virginia Beach, Virginia. This private, doctor-led practice operates without a non-compete, emphasizing compassionate, family-centered care in a mobile setting.

Ideal candidates are experienced in end-of-life conversations, able to work independently in the field, and committed to flexible scheduling including weekends. A DVM/VMD/BVMS and valid license are required.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree required and licensed to practice.
• Strong communication with families and team members.
• Ability to work independently in a mobile/home-visit setting.
• Weekend availability on a rotational basis.
• Physical ability to lift up to 45 lbs as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home hospice and euthanasia services to pet families.
• Communicate with pet families with empathy and professionalism.
• Collaborate with the care team to ensure compassionate end-of-life care.
• Maintain safety, documentation, and mobile practice standards.
