Job summary

Johnson Controls Inc. in Oklahoma City is seeking HVAC apprentice candidates to gain hands-on experience with mechanical equipment and controls on client sites. The program includes training through the Service Technical Academy and a vehicle to perform duties to high standards.

You will develop troubleshooting and customer service skills, meet union training requirements in year one, and learn to propose cost-effective solutions and quotes to improve facility efficiency.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of industry experience in HVAC or servicing mechanical systems
• Knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems and facilities management
• Ability to work on client sites and follow safety procedures
• Comfort communicating with customers and field staff

Responsibilities

• Apprentices will be trained and will perform on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls on client sites
• Participate in certified training through Service Technical Academy (STA) to build skills and advancement
• Develop troubleshooting and customer service skills through coaching and mentorship
• Keep JCI, contractors, and customers advised of job progress and issues
• Meet attendance requirements for required Union training in the first year
• Provide recommendations to ensure facility runs efficiently and identify upsell opportunities
• Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions
